Keri Chryst of Paris via Chicago. With a Master's in Jazz Pedagogy from Northwestern University, Keri Chryst made her way to Paris where she pioneered the Jazz Vocal Program at the American School of Modern Music in Paris, developing a complete ear training curriculum from scratch, and authoring a series of auxiliary workshops and courses for the Jazz Vocal Academy International. Her spunky "in the pocket" swing, together with an instrumental approach to singing and improvisation and "lighter than caramel" voice, have charmed audiences across the Western Hemisphere and fast earned her a reputation as a "musician's singer." performs regularly in Paris clubs including New Morning with Fred Wesley—trombonist for James Brown—and the Méridien. Maja Savić of Croatia. After intensive study of piano and working in local bands, in 2005 Maja moved to Portugal, where she worked on her debut album with prominent jazz musician Zé Eduardo. She studied jazz, Bossa nova, Latin and Indian music styles through various jazz workshops in Portugal, Spain, Bosnia, Croatia and learned from high quality musicians such as Zé Eduardo, Romy Camerun, Judy Niemack, Guillermo Rozenthuler, and more. In all her collaborations with numerous musicians from Portugal, Spain, the UK, the USA and Croatia, Maja composed all her lyrics, vocals, back vocals. In 2008 she established the Association for Promoting Jazz Music and Culture - JAZZart, and organized the first international jazz summer school and festival in Krk - "Krk Jazz Days", in collaboration with the organization Global Music Foundation from Great Britain. Claudia Hommel of Chicago via Paris. Claudia is a founding member of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals and is a member of the Actors Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. On stage, Claudia specializes in cabaret shows and recitals of French chansons, art songs, and American songbook standards. She's toured from New York to California playing concert halls, clubs, theatres and special events. Her ensembles and projects, under the umbrella of Working in Concert include The Jazz Fauré Project, SongShop Live, Vocal Canvas, Espresso, and Women of Paris. She has been on faculty at the Community Music Division of DePaul University in Chicago since 2003. Claudia approaches each student and each song with insights and energy that come from her own studies with international singer Martha Schlamme, actor/director Alvin Epstein, music director Steve Blier, voice teachers Stephen Smith and Roberta Vatske, various Shakespeare workshops, Art Song sessions led by Dalton Baldwin, Meisner technique studio work, and dance. www.cabaret-paree.com
